Average position

Average position in marketing refers to the average ranking of an advertisement on a search engine results page (SERP) or other digital platform. In the context of search engine advertising (SEA), average position refers to the average ranking of an ad in relation to the other ads in the same auction. A higher average position means that the ad is appearing closer to the top of the SERP, which can lead to more visibility and higher click-through rates. Average position is generally determined by a combination of bid amount and ad relevance, and can be used as a metric to evaluate the performance of an ad campaign and make adjustments as needed.
